Chief Becker, of South Orange, Dead Harry Becker, Chief of the South Orange, N. J., Fire Department and a member of the service for thirty-two years, died at his home on March 2 as the result of a stroke. He was sixty years old. He was born in the village and was educated at local schools. In 1900 he joined the volunteer Fire Department, at a time when there were sixty men on the roster. Shortly after he joined, he was chosen Assistant Chief. After he had been with the volunteer department for about ten years, he resigned to return to the building business of his father as a partner. Mr. Becker was a pioneer in developing the residential section of the village.
