PROMOTIONAL STUDY COURSE Herein is presented a series of definitions, questions and answers, designed to aid fire department officers in preparing themselves for promotional examinations. In this department, which appears monthly, will be included questions typical of examinations held throughout the country. Definitions Apartment House: A building intended or designed for, or used as, the home or residence of 3 or more families or households, living independently of each other, and in which every such family or household has provided for it a kitchen set, bathtub and water closet, separate and apart from any other. Frame Building: A building or structure of which the exterior walls or a portion thereof are constructed of wood.
