Safety Conference Held in Boston Two fire prevention meetings were held in connection with the fifteenth annual safety conference, sponsored by the Massachusetts Safety Council, in the Hotel Statler, Boston, on April 23. Alfred N. Miner, of Gilmour, Rothery & Co., presided. The speakers at the morning session were Deputy Chief Samuel J, Pope, of the Boston Fire Department; Miss Doris Greenwood, Director of Home and School Safety, Massachusetts Safety Council; Percy Bugbee, National Fire Protection Association; F. Eliot Cabot, former President of the Boston Board of Eire Underwriters; Captain Norman Jones, Fire Prevention Division, Providence, R. I., Fire Department, and Chief George L. Johnson, Waltham, Mass., Fire Department. The subjects discussed w’ere home inspections for fire hazards and fire prevention instruction in schools.
