CORRESPONDENCE Closed Body Fire Apparatus To the Editor: We made plans for the truck illustrated during the winter of 1933 but actual work on the apparatus did not start until July, 1934. It was completed during the winter of 1934. The body is built on a Lincoln chassis and a centrifugal pump was mounted on the front. One of the unusual features is the 100-gallon booster tank which is built as an integral part of the driver’s seat. The tank can be filled from the pump or by hand through a door on the right side of the truck. The apparatus carries or has a capacity of 1,000 feet of 2 1/2-inch hose, and 500 feet l 1/2-inch hose. However, we carry only 700 feet of 2 1/2-inch and 450 feet l 1/2-inch hose. The rear of the truck is entirely open. There is an enclosed space under the main…
