Babson Urges “Buy Apparatus Now” Roger W. Babson, head of the Babson Statistical Organization, Wellesley, Mass., was the guest and speaker at the luncheon and meeting of the Fire Chiefs’ Club of Massachusetts held on November 18 in the Hotel Bancroft, Worcester. Seated at the head table with Chief Charles L. McCarthy, Worcester, President of the club, were Mayor John S. Sullivan, Worcester; President Stanley, of the Gamewell Company, Newton; Mr. Babson, and Chief William H. Hill, Belmont, Secretary of the club. Mr. Babson spoke on “Inflation and What It Means to the Fire Service.” He said: “We are on the verge of a distinct boom in real estate and business. The time to buy Fire Department supplies and other needed articles is the present, as you can purchase things cheaper now than you will be able to do in the future.
