Lansing Wins Mendelssohn Trophy

Lansing Wins Mendelssohn Trophy Chief Hugo R. Delfs. Lansing, Mich., was presented with the Paxton Mendelssohn Trophy, in recognition of his low fire loss. The presentation was made on the eve of the second anniversary of the Hotel Kerns fire, which claimed thirty-one lives, and the award was made at a special meeting of the Southeastern Michigan Fire Chiefs’ Association. Paxton Mendelssohn, the donor, and well known fire fan, made the presentation. About one hundred Chiefs and their wives attended the meeting, at which Chief Floyd Baker of Highland Park presided.
