Courtesy Pays—Even When Fighting Fires Chief Guy Spencer, Walnut Creek, Cal., responded to a small brush fire. Also present was Chief A. M. Fichtonmueller of Danville. Said Chief Fichtenmueller to Chief Spencer: “The fire isn’t on our side of the line, but we thought we would help you.” Said Chief Spencer to Chief Fichtenmueller: “I’m sure glad you did, it’s on your side now.” The fire burnt 150 acres of grass and some fenceline, but did not do very much damage.
