Pittsfield Has New Fire Alarm Pittsfield, Mass., has placed its new fire alarm system in operation. The equipment is housed in a new fireproof building next to the Morningside station. The new system is equipped to handle 135 fire alarm boxes, but can be extended to handle 250 boxes. The building was erected at a cost of $12,000, and the equipment represents an expenditure of $13,000. There are two hundred batteries that are recharged automatically.
