ANALYSIS MADE OF ARSON CASES IN DETROIT FOR SEVENTEEN YEARS Arson Squad Reports Most Successful Year Since Its Inception in 1921—Pyromaniacs Cause Most Incendiary Fires THE year 1937 has been the most successful year of the Detroit Arson Squad since its inception sixteen years ago. The number of convictions obtained is the largest number for any one year, and the incendiary loss is the lowest, being approximately seven per cent of the incendiary loss for the year 1921, which was the year preceding the organization of the squad. Organized gangs of arsonists who specialized in fraud fires do not exist any more, as is indicated by the small number of such fires for this year.
