lowans Form District Firemen’s Association Every Fire Department in Delaware and Dubuque Counties, Iowa, were represented at a meeting at Earlville Tuesday evening, March 21, which marked the close of a 10 weeks studycourse engaged in by the members of the local department. State Fire Marshal J. Vincent Pyde presented badges to the 20 men completing the course, and Prof. Lindon J. Murphy, Director of the Iowa State Fire School, addressed the meeting. Chief F. S. Otis of Earlville was elected temporary chairman of a committee of Chiefs of the two counties, and instructed to call a meeting in the near future for the purpose of perfecting plans for a District Firemen’s Association. The 120 firemen present voted unanimously in favor of the association.
