Training Program for Pennsylvania Firemen A new state-wide program of training for firemen is to be inaugurated in Pennsylvania, as the result of a two-day conference recently held by tbe Pennsylvania Technical Advisory Committee on Firemen Training, in cooperation with officials of the State Department of Public Instruction. It is hoped that eventually classes in such training will be organized throughout tbe state in such a manner that a class will be available in traveling distance for every volunteer. For the time being classes are to be of an elementary nature, but advanced classes are contemplated for development in the future. Only certified instructors will be permitted to conduct classes under tbe program. Administrative control will be vested in tbe Public Service Institute of Pennsylvania, as guided by the policies of tbe Advisory Committee, representing tbe State Firemen’s Association.
