Fire Destroys Canning Plant Fanned by a strong wind, fire within a few hours razed a three-story canning plant and warehouse at South Superior, Mich., and caused a loss estimated at $500,000. The fire was out of control before the Fire Department arrived, and the men were hampered by a poor water supply Only one four-inch main was available. It was necessary to stretch lines about 1,000 feet long. Three firemen who climbed to a ledge fourteen feet above the ground, were buried in a shower of bricks, when the wall collapsed.
