Rates Cut in Memphis, Tenn. As a result of the fire prevention work that has been conducted by Chief Irby M. Klinck, the Tennessee Inspection Bureau has notified Memphis that fire insurance rates would be reduced and the saving in premiums would he about $100,000 annually. Memphis won the national award for fire prevention work in 1937 and again in 1938. Memphis is the only Class 2 insurance rate city in the state, the best rating possible. Last fall, the March of Time pictured a story of the Memphis Fire Department, which was shown in 8,500 theatres throughout the country.
