Airplane Used to Fight Forest Fire An airplane demonstrated its value in directing fire-fighters, when a serious fire broke out above Umbagog Lake in New Hampshire. The plane flew around the fire at intervals, charting the extent of the fire and its probable course. Several landings were made to confer with the men. Five hundred acres of timberland were lost.
