A. W. Link Appointed Chief After twenty-seven years as a fireman, Amos W. Link attained the rank of Chief of the Perry N. Y. Fire Department, which is a volunteer organization of seventy men. The department also offers protection to the rural district which covers fifty-two square miles, including 120 miles of roads. The apparatus consists of three trucks; one 750-gallon pumper, one 350 gallon pumper with booster tanks and foam generators, and one combination ladder, hose, and booster tank truck. The department has used the foam with great success on oil, tar, and gasoline fires.
