Correspondence In Defense of Home-Made Apparatus To the Editor: I read an article in your FIRE ENGINEERING magazine about an Eastern Fire Company building a truck from 1½-ton chassis witn 500-gallon tanks and equipment mounted upon it, and weighing four tons when finished. Well, I may be wrong, but the way that article read, you doubt it can be done? Maybe I am wrong again in thinking you were referring to our company, but I think we are the only ones in this part of the state that have such a piece of apparatus. The East Herkimer Company would be pleased to have you see this truck for yourself if you ever happen to get up this way.
