Fire Apparatus Collide

Fire Apparatus Collide Six Waterbury, Conn., firemen and a pedestrian were injured on February 15 in a collision between an eighty-five-foot aerial truck and a twenty-six-year old pumper. The apparatus crashed at the corner of Washington Avenue and Baldwin Street while enroute to a chimney fire in the South End section of the city. The pedestrian, received a fractured leg and possible internal injuries. He was waiting for a bus at the corner, and was struck by Engine 3 as it was hurled across the street by the impact of the collision with the heavier ladder truck. He was rushed to a hospital. Both pieces of equipment were damaged. The ladder truck was recently purchased by the Fire Commissioners.
