Friends Honor Chief Lind This year Chief Olander Lind observed his forty-fifth year of service in the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department. He joined the Department in 1886. serving in every capacity until he was appointed Chief in 1925. One of his most outstanding achievements has been the standardizing and modernization of equipment. In the past, it has usually been the habit of the men to congratulate Chief Lind on his anniversary as he came to his office. This year it appeared as though everyone had forgotten about it. But in the evening he was taken out to the Quivera Lakes Club House, under a false pretense, and on entering the club house dining room he was greeted by a host of his friends.
