Lynn Firemen Lose Fight for 72-hour Week The Supreme Court recently upheld a decree of the Superior Court which enjoined Lynn, Mass., firemen from working a 72-hour week instead of an 84-hour week. The decision was made more than a year ago and was taken to the Supreme Court on appeal. Ten taxable inhabitants had protested an order passed by the Lynn City Council on Feb. 27, 1940, which installed the shorter work week.
