Fighting a Fire in a Parking Lot To the Editor: The following question was asked at a recent examination for fire lieutenant: “Assume that you respond to a fire which has involved an automobile located in a parking space containing 500 other cars. The automobile is completely involved and the gasoline tank has ruptured. You respond on a Bell alarm. State in detail how you would handle this fire until it is extinguished. Assume that you are in command; the superior officers are engaged at another fire.” Will you kindly express your opinion as to the manner in which this question should he properly answered. L. S.
