Double Jacket Fire Hose The following replies in answer to a questionnaire on double jacket hose arrived too late to be included in the symposium which appeared in the August issue of FIRE ENGINEERING. Brown, Chief We have not used single jacket hose in our regular fire department work, but from the experience we have had with this type of hose while training auxiliary firemen, we are of the opinion that it would not stand a great deal of pressure. We have had three sections burst at 60 pounds pressure while being used in drills. We do not consider this hose satisfactory for municipal fire departments. Forf Wayne, Ind.
