Ex-Chief A. J. Foley Dies

Ex-Chief A. J. Foley Dies Arthur J. Foley, Sr., former Chief of the Portland, Conn., Fire Department, was found dead in his room at the Hotel Kingsbury, Waterbury, on October 7. A heart attack was given as the cause of death. The deceased was at the head of the Portland Fire Department for fifteen yeays and also served for some time as a constable and dog warden. In 1942 he served as a foreman in construction work at an Allied base in Northern Ireland, returning to this country after spending 13 months there. He conducted an electrical contracting business. His wife, four daughters, three sons, one brothe.r and three sisters survive him. THOMAS F. MAGNER
