39th Annual Dominion Convention Photo by W. J. Scott The 39th Annual Convention of the Dominion Association of Fire Chiefs was held in London, Ontario, August 12-15, 1947. Attendance was the largest in the history of the Association. Business and entertainment were well mixed, the serious side of the Convention, particularly, heading up the program. Among the speakers at the business sessions were: Chief James W. Just, University of Maryland; Deputy Fire Commissioner A. X. Ahern, Province of Quebec; Fire Marshal Wm. J. Scott, Province of Ontario; Dominion Fire Commissioner, W. L. Clairmont; Prof. Kingston, University of Western Ontario; President Bevis, Ontario Fire Fighters; Chief T. H. Dimbill of the Canadian Westinghouse Co., Hamilton, Ont.: Chief T. H. Whitman, Temiskaming Firemen’s Association, and others.
