Dayton Wins Fire Prevention Award

Dayton Wins Fire Prevention Award Chief Joseph A. Kirby and members of the Division of Fire, City of Dayton, Ohio, and the Dayton Safety Council were recipients of an award for excellence in fire prevention for the year 1947-48 from the National Safety Council in Chicago. The safety program was spousored by the local council. The award, in the shape of a handsome plaque, was presented to the City, Fire Department and Council by H. S. Nonneman, president of the National Safety Council. Sharing in the honors as recipient, with Chief Kirby, head of the Fire Department, was Mr. Roscoe Brane, first vice president and chairman of the fire prevention program which the Dayton Safety Council sponsored.
