Manville Fetes Chief Fortier Fire Chief Henri E. Fortier, president of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs, was honored by over 300 friends and village officials March 6th last, at a dinner and celebration in his home community of Manvilie, R. I. The occasion marked the Chief’s 25th year as local Fire Marshal. The celebration was held at Manvilie Community Center, with Laure B. Lussier, Registrar of Motor Vehicles, acting as master of ceremonies. Deputy Chief Gladu was general chairman of festivities. Speakers included John W. O’Hearn, secretary-treasurer of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs; former Chief Daniel B. Tierney, secretary-treasurer of the International Association of Fire Chiefs; Chief Col. John Sheehan, state fire marshal and superintendent Rhode Island State Police; Chief Frank K. Spencer, president, R. I.
