Orchids to Owen Ogburn

Orchids to Owen Ogburn Daniel Burns, employee of a Charlotte, N. C., Roofing empany, was firing a roofing furnace when a hose on the apparatus broke, spraying him with flaming fuel oil. He jumped from the truck on which the furnace was mounted and ran down the road in panic and pain. Owen Ogburn, of the Charlotte Observer (a newspaper), took after the running man, tackled him, stripped his jacket off, and used it to extinguish the flames. Burns was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, where his condition was reported “fair, with quick recovery likely.”
