C.D. Conference Held in Atlanta The Third Region Civil Defense Fire Conference held in Atlanta. Ga., Nov. 4 and 5 was attended by more than 200 Fire Chiefs, C. D. officials and others from 7 states and the Canal Zone. There were a number of city officials and industrial executives among those attending. The Conference was sponsored by the Federal Civil Defense Administration, Region III. of Thomasville, Ga.; the Georgia Civil Defense Division, State Dept, of Defense; and the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, C.D., with Chief C. C. Styron of Atlanta as host chief. The program dealt with all aspects of the latest methods of fire defense against attacks with modern weapons and emphasized the necessity for comprehensive advance planning.
