Chief Gehr Death Suit Settled Out of Court A damage suit brought by the widow and two sons of Chief Cecil R. Gehr, 51, of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, who was killed while responding to a brush fire on July 14, 1954, has been settled out of court. The Gehr family attorneys declined to disclose the amount of the settlement in the $125,750 suit against James J. Heinrich, 21, apprentice carpenter, whose car collided with Chief Gehr’s in Burbank, Calif.
