April Fire Losses Estimated fire losses in the United States during April amounted to $84,624,000 the National Board of Fire Underwriters has reported. According to Lewis A. Vincent, NBFU’s general manager, this $84,624,000 loss represents an increase of 7.6 per cent over losses of $78,632,000 reported for April, 1955, and continues the trend that has been noticeable since the first of the year. Losses for the first four months of 1956 now total $354,952,000, an increase of 8.5 per cent over the first four months of 1955, when they amounted to $327,140,000. These estimated losses include an allowance for uninsured and unreported losses.
