February Fire Losses Estimated fire losses in the United States during February amounted to $103,853,000, the National Board of Fire Underwriters has reported. According to Lewis A. Vincent, NBFU’s general manager, this $103,853,000 loss represents an increase of 8.7 per cent over losses of $95,569,000 reported for February 1957, and an increase of 3.9 per cent over losses of $99,918,000 for last January (1958). Losses for the first two months of 1958 now total $203,771,000, a decrease of 3.4 per cent from the first two months of 1957, when they amounted to $210,841,000. These estimated losses include an allowance for uninsured and unreported losses.
