Suffolk Opens Fire-Civil Defense Training Center Federal matching funds help to provide long-needed facilities THE DREAM of a Suffolk County, Long Island, N. Y., training center for fire fighting and civil defense will soon be a reality, as construction nears completion. The center includes a 7,000-foot-square building with four expandable classrooms, a lecture hall, an administrative office, radio room, locker room, toilet facilities, library and exhibit area. A complete library was considered essential together with an exhibit area, 14 by 24 feet, which graphically introduces students and visitors to CD problems. An auditorium for 200 is available by opening movable partitions between classrooms and the lecture room in the east wing of the building. A second lecture room for 110 is achieved by opening similar partitions between classrooms on the west wing.
