Tighten Fire Regulations in Chicago Catholic Schools Monsignor William McManus, superintendent of Chicago’s Catholic schools, has announced that the recommenations of the coroner’s jury, which investigated the fatal fire at Our Lady of the Angels School, will be followed in all the city’s parochial schools. Installation of sprinkler systems and other major fire prevention improvements will cost between $8 and $12 million. The ruins of Our Lady of the Angels School will be torn down and a new building erected.
