A registered professional engineer and a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, he joined the U. S. Fire Protection Engineering Service. Inc., Kansas City, Mo., in 1957 as a senior engineer, initially participating in a worldwide survey of U. S. Air Force fire protection problems.
