January Fire Losses Estimated fire losses in the United States during January amounted to $92,949,000, the National Board of Fire Underwriters has reported. According to Louis A. Vincent, NBFU’s general manager, this $92,949,000 loss represents a decrease of 17.7 per cent from losses of $112,983,000 reported for January 1959, and a decrease of 3.6 per cent from losses of $96,444,000 for last December. These estimated losses include an allowance for uninsured and unreported losses.
