FPE Scholarships Available

FPE Scholarships Available Sixteen fire protection scholarships will be awarded to high school graduates in the fall of 1964 by the Fire Insurance Research and Actuarial Association. The scholarship committee of FIRAA has announced the scholarships will permit recipients to study fire protection at the College of Engineering, University of Maryland. The grants provide the student with full charges for room, board, tuition and fees under a four-year program leading to a B.S. degree in fire protection. Young men with a “B” high school average and a strong aptitude for mathematics and science are eligible according to James E. Blowers, assistant manager of FIRAA. This will be the sixth year in which the scholarships have been awarded. Fifteen are sponsored by the seven eastern fire rating bureaus and awarded by FIRAA, previously known as InterRegional Insurance Conference.
