NAMES IN THE NEWS DEPARTMENTS Chief Schiotterbeck Retires George L. Schiotterbeck, chief of the Hamilton, Ohio, Fire Department for the last 16 years, retired on March 14. He joined the department on July 13, 1931. He was promoted to lieutenant on February 15, 1943 and to captain on February 1, 1946. He was appointed chief of department on January 5, 1948. Chief Schiotterbeck has been active in both the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs, where he served as director from the Great Lakes Division. Chief Jack Hebert Retires Chief Jack Hebert, Sedro Woolley, Wash., Volunteer Fire Department, maker of the Hebert fire hose clamp, standard equipment in many fire departments throughout the nation, has retired after 38 years service.
