Hubert Walker Becomes Contributing Editor FIRE ENGINEERING is proud to announce that beginning with the January 1965 issue, Hubert Walker joins the staff as a contributing editor. He will conduct a column devoted to the maintenance and servicing of fire apparatus. Hugh, as he is popularly known to the nation’s fire service, is a widely traveled lecturer, teacher and author on fire apparatus operation and maintenance, as well as an automotive engineer of more than 48 years experience. A licensed professional engineer, he began his career in 1916 as a chassis engineer with General Motors. During 1923-24 he was a special engineer on service problems. He joined ACF Motor Coaches as a chassis engineer in 1924 and continued with that organization until 1928 when he was named assistant chief engineer of American LaFrance.
