Eliasen, Supervisor Training and Safety, Outside Plant and Structure, Consolidated Edison Company of New York NINE POLES complete with a variety of power lines, transformers and insulators are the feature of the latest training unit installed at New York’s Bureau of Training on Welfare Island. Designated as a Distribution Facilities Exhibit, the unit, which was donated and installed by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, includes equipment used to provide the city’s millions with electricity, gas and steam. It was designed to familiarize New York’s fire fighters with the type of distribution equipment that may be met in the field at the occasional failure in any one of the three types of service.
