January Fire Losses Estimated dollar losses caused by fires in the United States totaled $136,184,000 in January, the American Insurance Association reported. This was an increase of 9.3 percent over $124,587,000 for December 1964 and a decrease of 2.3 percent under $139, 331,000 for January 1964, said J. Dewey Dorsett, president of the American Insurance Association. These estimated losses include an allowance for uninsured and unreported losses.
