Illinois Professional Fire Chiefs Association Formed A charter for the formation of the Illinois Professional Fire Chiefs Association was issued by the State of Illinois on November 7, 1966. Charter members of this new group are the chiefs of Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Morton Grove, Niles, Park Ridge and Skokie Five Departments. The objectives of the association are to unite for the mutual benefit of those public officials engaged primarily in fire administration, fire extinguishment, fire training and fire prevention; to act as a central agency for exchange of professional information among its members; to discuss ways and means for the betterment of the fire service and the reduction of the unnecessary loss of life and property from fire; and to seek the enactment and maintenance of sound and basic laws for the betterment of the fire service.
