TV Channels Youth to Fire Safety Los Angles County F.D. launches junior fire brigade program Los Angeles County F. D. photos Staff Correspondent The Los Angeles County Fire Department, which has always made maximum use of broadcast media, has a new fire prevention education program on television for the 5 to 7-year-olds. The Junior Fire Brigade program is on Metromedia’s Los Angeles outlet, KTTV, Channel 11, as part of the daily routine of the Sheriff John Lunch Brigade (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. daily). Sheriff John (John Rovick) has been on television with his program for 17 years and is virtually a Los Angeles institution. He has frequently cooperated with L.A. County in the past. To encourage more youngsters to think fire prevention, the Sheriff JohnCounty Fire Department Junior Fire Brigade was created. Chief Richard Houts and Public Information Officer Dick Friend appealed on the program August 6 to launch the campaign.…
