Obituaries Chief Douglas C. Sovern Douglas C. Sovern, chief of the Englewood, Colo., Fire Department died on December 4 after suffering a heart attack. Sovern joined the Englewood Volunteer Fire Department in 1933. In 1949 he went to work for the regular Englewood Fire Department and became chief on April 1, 1968. He was president of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs Association and a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Chief Donald B. Addington Donald B. Addington, 44, chief of the Miles City, Mont., Fire Department, died on September 18 in the University of Minnesota Hospital at Minneapolis where he underwent heart surgery. He joined the fire department on June 1, 1946 and became chief on March 1, 1962.
