Training Grounds Can Provide Basic or Extensive Facilities It is no secret that an adequate training ground is vital to attaining and maintaining peak efficiency in any fire department. The secret in acquiring a training ground is to make a start. Whether you start with some land and a single flammable liquid burning pit or go for an entire complex depends on municipal policy. Some communities prefer to dole out a little money from year to year to build up training facilities. Others like the idea of making a single appropriation and building everything at the same time. Regardless of which policy is followed, the fire department should develop a complete project on paper before making a physical start on a training ground.
