Seconds Avert Tragedy In Escape From Roof Only seconds separated the members of two companies from tragedy at a three-alarm fire in New York. These photos, which were all taken within about a minute by Alexander Donchin, a buff with Engine 230, show how the members of Ladder 102 and Squad 3 escaped from the roof of a building at 96 Clifton Place in Brooklyn about 3 p.m. last March 5.
