Obituaries Former Chief Burton H. Wright Retired Chief Burton H. Wright, 65, for four years chief of the Syracuse, N. Y., Fire Department, died January 11. He had retired on August 22, 1970 after 40 years of service, 25 of them as a chief officer. Wright joined the department on April 1, 1930, was promoted to lieutenant in 1940 and to captain in 1942. He was named district chief in 1945, deputy chief in 1959, and elevated to first deputy chief in 1963. He was appointed chief of the department on May 12, 1966. Deputy Chief Frank Trenner Frank J. Trenner, a deputy chief of the Baltimore Fire Department for the past 20 years, died on November 12 of a heart ailment. He was 68. He joined the department in 1924.
