St. Louis Awaiting the IAFC The accent will be on symposiums and workshops when the International Association of Fire Chiefs conducts its 98th Annual Conference in St. Louis, September 19-23, Sunday through Thursday. The major portion of the morning sessions will be devoted to “Hazardous Materials—Their Management and Transportation” on Monday and to “Occupational Health Hazards” on Tuesday. The panel for the hazardous materials symposium consists of James W. Kerr, staff director, Support Systems Division, Office of Civil Defense; Grant C. Vietsch, president, Railway Systems and Management Association; and John C. Zercher, manager, Chemical Transportation and Emergency Center, Manufacturing Chemists Association. The occupational health symposium will be moderated by Dr. Eugene L. Nagel, of the department of anesthesiology, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami Dr. Donald M. Thomas, director of emergency services, Louisville General Hospital, and surgeon for the Louisville Fire Department, will discuss lung injuries; Dr. Gerald S. Gordon, medical consultant…
