Bay State Sprinkler Bill Vetoed A bill to require sprinkler systems in all new buildings more than 70 feet high has been vetoed by Massachusetts Governor Francis W. Sargent. The governor’s action let a weaker regulation of the State Building Code Commission go into effect last August 13. This allows the installation of a variety of fire protection devices instead of sprinklers. The regulation also does not include all high-rise buildings.
