Instructors Hear of Progress On Standards at Fall Meeting Reports on progress made by committees developing certification standards for the fire service, description of a new concept in self-contained breathing apparatus and suggestions on the use of teaching methods were heard at the fall conference of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. At its meeting at Mont Chateau Lodge in Mont Chateau State Park in Morgantown, W. Va., October 26-29, the society unanimously approved a resolution urging the committee on science and astronautics of the United States House of Representatives to revise the bill on fire prevention and control sponsored by Representative John W. Davis (D-Ga.), H.R. 5589, to conform with S. 1769, the companion bill sponsored by Senator Warren G. Magnuson (D-Wash.) that has been passed by the Senate and sent to the House.
