Former Chief of Memphis Now a Vice President When Eddie Hamilton retired as chief of the Memphis Fire Department, he started working a day here and there as a consultant with Gpardmark. one of the largest security firms in the country and which is headquartered in Memphis. But the day here and there stretched into two days here and there and eventually full time when he was appointed vice president by Ira Lipman who heads the firm. Guardsmark, which started out in crime prevention, branched out into fire prevention and protection. Eddie’s duties as veep will find him mostly in Memphis but with an occasional flight to places like New York where he recently dropped into the office of Fire Engineering.
