Letters to the Editor DEPARTMENTS More on the May Editorial Burlington, N.J. I could not in all fairness fail to answer the letter written to your magazine by Chief Hitchens of California City. His opinion of his two-man company must shock all fire fighters who must bear the heavy task of fighting fires. Perhaps he has been a wearer of the white hat too long to remember the heavy work involved. Perhaps he has not had the benefit of manning the hoses for several hours, then have the honor to roll all the hose up and pack up at the end of the battle. Perhaps coming back to the station he has not engaged in the fun of being dog-tired and repacking the pumper. Then, too, the excitement of getting another alarm before you get a chance to recuperate from the one you just finished. Perhaps Chief Hitchens forgets that…
